PENTECOST SUNDAY
After the Ascension Jesus is present among us in a different way. We do not see, hear or touch Him like before, but we can recognize Him, and remain in Him, in our life with the eyes of faith and through the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, before his Ascension, said, to his disciples, and to us: “it is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you”; “When de Spirit of Truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth”; and “I am with you always, to the end of time”.
With the Holy Spirit among us the plan of salvation has been brought to conclusion, the Spirit fills the earth with God´s power and love. The world is charged with new life, we are called to be a new people in Christ; the humanity is able to live in communion with God, our Father, and in communion with our brothers and sisters and among the nations. Through the Spirit of God , we are reconciled to each other and then together we spend our selves for the common good. Through the Spirit of God the world is renewed and the community is revitalized.
We have immersed in the vigor of the Spirit of God; all we have to do is open ourselves to Him and the Kingdom of God will be born in our midst. To live the new life in Christ is necessary that we let ourselves be guided and transformed by the Spirit and show His fruits:”love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control…, since we are living by the Spirit, let our behavior be guided by the Spirit”.
Living according to the Spirit is essential for the believer “nobody is able to say Jesus is the Lord except in the Holy Spirit and all who are guided by the Spirit of God are sans of God”. The Spirit enables us to know the love that God has for us and reveled to us in his Son, a love that wants the best for all of us and mankind, a love that fills our life of fullness.
The action of the Holy Spirit makes possible to know Christ, to accept his person and his message. The Spirit makes the church universal, he teaches and reminds us what Jesus is and the new life that gives to us. Thanks to the action of the Spirit “we are blessed because without seeing we believe.
The Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world, alleluia.
