We the Xaverian Missionaries in Sierra Leone held our Regional Assembly on the 5th and 6th of December, at the conclusion of the year 2022. We also celebrated the solemn Feast of St. Francis Xavier with Bishop Natale Paganelli, who joined us and presided over our Holy Eucharist. During the Mass, we renewed our Consecration.
Our assembly was very cool and cordial. We made positive exchanges of ideas, reflections and experiences as we are preparing the Region`s Report towards the coming of the 18th General Chapter.
During the assembly, we listened to Fr. Benjamin Sesay – Caritas Director and Unimak Administrator, who offered to us the general presentation of the “Sierra Leone Socio-Economic and Political Context” as we view for the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections of June 2023.
We also asked Fr. Victor Bongiovanni and Fr. Jerome Pistoni to share their experiences during the civil war on 1992-2002 as the two of them were witnesses of those events during the 10 years war.
