On the 2nd  of March 2024, the Diocese of Makeni, in collaboration with the Parishes within Makeni City, celebrated the Lenten Pilgrimage.

The pilgrimage was held in the outstation of Masongbo under St. Conforti Parish. The Bishop led the celebration. The procession began in St. Conforti Parish ground moving towards Masongbo covering the distance of around 6 kms. During the procession, the Stations of the Cross and the Holy Rosary were prayed.

In reaching the RC Primary School of Masongbo, the Stations of the Cross were concluded with the blessing of the Bishop. Then the pilgrims proceeded to the garden adjacent to the school field where the celebration was held. The Sacrament of Penance were celebrated. A good number of Priests were available for the personal Confession that was  followed by the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Bishop and concelebrated by the Priests of Makeni City.

The pilgrimage was very successful and well-attended by the Parishioners from the four Parishes and from two big outstations within Makeni - Cathedral Parish, St. Francis Xavier Parish, St. Conforti Parish, Holy Spirit Parish, St. Andrew Chaplaincy and Rogbom Catholic community.

The Bishop hoped that next year the pilgrimage will be done again.
