DAY OF THE CONSECRATED LIFE IN THE DIOCESE OF MAKENI

The Religious Men and Women of the Diocese of Makeni gathered together to celebrate the Feast Day of the Consecrated Life. The event was held at the Bishop’s Residence Garden.

The celebration began with the Talk given by Fr. Luigi Brioni, sx on the theme – “The Religious Life and the Witnessing in the Contemporary World”. After which, followed by the Procession of the Candles and the Holy Eucharist presided over by The Most Rev. Bishop Bob John H. Koroma with the presence of the Vicar General Fr. Dominic Johnson and some Priests in the Diocese around Makeni City.

The Bishop and the Vicar General were very much involved in this year’s celebration. The Bishop with the Presbyterium of the Diocese paid homage and gratefulness for the presence of the Religious Congregations in the Diocese.

After the Holy Eucharist, there was an hour of Interactive Sharing with the Bishop. The Bishop espoused essential and formal Communication and Relation with the Diocese and Religious Congregations. He also listens few responses. He emphasized collaborative ministry and synodality.

The event was well-attended by the Brothers, Sisters and Fathers from the 17 Religious Congregations present in the Diocese.

The celebration concluded with the lunch and the election of the Executive Officers in which Sister Magdalene Umoh, from the Sisters of Notre Dame, was elected as Coordinator and Vicar for Religious in the Diocese.
