On the Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A, the three readings share a common theme: our twofold mission in the world, to be salt and light of a city built on a hilltop.
Today I want to share with you the celebration of the feast of St. John Bosco that we had with the young people of the Koinadug deanery this past weekend in Makakura. The homily was also given by three of them: one spoke about Don Bosco's early life or biography, the second about his priestly life and mission, and the third about Don Bosco's holiness. Each spoke for only five minutes. The entire Mass was organized and celebrated by the young people.

The C.Y.O. The Catholic Youth Organization of Koinadugo joyfully celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco, our patron saint, at All Saints Catholic Church in the village of Makakura, a branch of the Parish of the Holy Martyrs of Uganda, Kabala, about 8 kilometers from the city of Kabala.
The celebration was lively, with young people from different parts of the Deanery, especially from the Parish of St. Peter and St. Paul in Fadugo, in attendance. We began with Holy Mass with the parishioners.
After Mass, we shared a meal with the community. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it.
Later, we played soccer, volleyball, and 24 rounds. The activities were fun and entertaining for everyone. The community was very happy and deeply grateful for our visit and the time we spent together. After the games, we said goodbye with joy and fond memories.
We sincerely thank Father Alex, our Youth Parish Chaplain, for his tireless support. He presided at Holy Mass and accompanied us throughout all the activities. We also thank the priests of our parish, Rev. Fr. Jerome, our pastor, and Fr. Erik, the assistant pastor, for their guidance and support. A special thank you to Cristina, our Italian volunteer, who was with us and actively participated in the activities. May God bless all who contributed to the success of this beautiful celebration.
