Dear Brothers and sisters in Holy Trinity! Today our mother church is inviting us to celebrate the solemnity of Holy Trinity.
The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that, there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully understand Him. The Scripture and the tradition teach that the Father is God, that Jesus is God and that the Holy Spirit God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. 
Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teaching of the bible. There were many great theologians and saints of the church, who wanted to master of the concept of Triune Godhead but they could not with their knowledge. They comprehended the mystery of Holy Trinity with their faith. St. Athanasius said “we acknowledge the Trinity, Holy and perfect to consist of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In this Trinity there is no intrusion of any alien element or of anything from outside, nor is the Trinity a blend of creative and energising reality, self- consistent and undivided in its active power, for the Father makes all things through the word and in the Holy Spirit and in this way the unity of the Holy Trinity is preserved”.
There is one very important thing about the concept of the Trinity is that all the churches accept and believe in the Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Which means that there is no way to suggest three Gods. Trinity is a concept or term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God or three co-existent, co-eternal persons who are God. The mystery of the most Holy Trinity is a basic doctrine of Faith in Christianity, understandable not with our heads but with our hearts. We believe this doctrine because Jesus our lord has taught us.
In John’s gospel chapters 15-18 we have a detailed account of Jesus’ teaching of the role of each person of the Holy Trinity. God the Father creates and provides for his creature. God the Son redeems us and reconciles us with God. God the Holy Spirit sanctifies us, strengthens us, teaches us and guide us to God. AT THE ANNUNCIATION, God the Father sent his angel to Mary, God the Holy Spirit came upon her, the power of the Most High overshadowed her, and god the Son became incarnate in her womb. AT THE BAPTISM OF JESUS, when the Son received the baptism of repentance from the John the Baptist, the Father’s voice was heard, and the Holy Spirit appeared as a dove and descended upon Jesus. AT THE ASCENSION, Jesus commissioned his disciples to baptize those who believed, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy spirit.
All the prayers in the church begin in the name of the Holy Trinity and end glorifying the Trinity. All the sacraments are administered in the name of the Trinity. We bless ourselves and the priest blesses us in the name of the Holy Trinity.
St. Francis Xavier’s favorite prayer was: “Most Holy Trinity, Who live in me, I praise You, I worship You, I adore You, and I love You.” May the Son lead us to the Father through the Spirit, to live with the Triune God forever and ever. Amen.
